The First Performance National Day of Celebration goes VIRTUAL!
Hal Leonard and Essential Elements is proud to be a part of the First Performance National Day of Celebration! In addition to providing the music for the performance from the Essential Elements Method Books, EE Author Dr. Charles Menghini will be the virtual conductor for this fantastic event!
What is the First Performance National Day of Celebration?

The First Performance National Day of Celebration is scheduled annually for the third week of November to celebrate, honor and recognize the achievements of beginning instrumental music students. Students can prepare music and perform together to give them that important boost this time of year. We are proud to work with National Association of Music Merchants, Yamaha Music Education Division, and the Music Achievement Council to bring you this great concert opportunity!
How do you participate?
Participation can be at the school or organization level and can also be at the individual level. This year, students are still able to have the same experience, even while learning from home. The Music Achievement Council has put together a turnkey program for directors, allowing students to perform at home for friends and family. This play-along concert video features a message from NAMM CEO Joe Lamond, is conducted by Charlie Menghini and narrated by Marcia Neel. The music is available digitally for distribution, as is a modifiable and downloadable certificate template to celebrate the student’s big accomplishment. All this material is free for you to share.
